About Jessie:

Who am I and why pick me over another family and couples therapists?

I'm not going to give you a list of credentials. Yes I'm qualified - top graduate of the year I graduated in fact.  Means nothing really, if we don't click, if you feel I don't get you or understand what you're going through or offer therapeutic support inline with your goals for therapy.

I'll be the right therapist if you'd like to be supported by a therapist who has lived experiences of feeling lost in adolescence (mine showed itself as an eating disorder), married and experienced its highs and lows, marriage breakdown, single parenting joined with a highly anxious child with autism as his superpower and his caring, adoring younger brother.  And yep that comes with parental guilt, not feeling good enough, stressed like I didn't believe was possible and coming out the other side, only to dive back into those murky waters again and again.

I understand the fears that can come with sharing your family with a stranger (well after the first session, my aim is for you to feel 'I get you' and that I'm a stranger who can help improve what's happening).  I sit in your seat when I go with my son to family therapy.  You are not alone - even family therapists need family therapy, I'm proud to say.   I take my kids to swimming lessons and jiu jitus to care and look after their bodies.  I take my kids to therapy to care and look after their minds and hearts.

I've also sat in three different couples therapist lounges with the goal to improve my marriage and have come out the other side having had to make the hardest decision of my life.  You are not alone - even couples therapists need couples therapy, I'm proud to say.

I'm saying I'm proud to be doing and have done therapy as at times therapy is purely about learning skills to improve the relationship, sometimes it's healing past hurts and trauma, sometimes it's about bringing clarity and acknowledging that the way we are feeling and see things is true and accurate.  And sometimes it's just about wanting someone else to tell us what to do, as we'd be doing it already if we knew it and life would be all sunshine, rainbows and lollypops.

Shall we head to what an actually session with me looks like, couples go here, families go here:)

Purely FYI before you go there:)  My expertise are focused upon:
- Family
- Couples
- Adolescence and children
- Anxiety
- Hypnotherapy
- Inner child work / reparenting
